We tend associate fur coats with luxury, cold climates and snow. Think of the glamour models from the 60’s and 70’s and you will get the idea.
However what isn’t always appreciated is that fur coats also need to be kept in the cold.Apparently all fur pelts have microbes within the skin and hair which if left unchecked will start to eat the fur and you see blotches and bald sections. Not great when you might have paid over Ā£100,000 for your coat. To help with this you can now buy temperature controlled cabinets.
